Overview
After Week 2 of the 2026 AFLE Season, the league's landscape has begun to solidify. The Saisondebüts of Rhein Fire and the Paris Lights provided clarity, while the Vienna Vikings established themselves as the team to beat by winning an offensive shootout in Wrocław. Below is the official Power Ranking post-Week 2, analyzed by league broadcasters James Poovey and Edward Cole.
Power Rankings Post-Week 2
1. Vienna Vikings (2-0)
- Net Differential: +61 (PF 91, PA 30)
- Trend: —
- Justification: The Vikings are the undisputed number one. After dismantling Berlin Thunder in Week 1, they went into Poland and beat a very strong Panthers Wrocław squad 42-23. QB [Ben Holmes](/Players/ben_holmes.md looks like the early MVP favorite, showing incredible chemistry with Yannick Mayr, Darrell Stewart Jr., and Noah Touré. The depth of this homegrown roster, supplemented by high-caliber imports, makes Vienna the class of the league.
2. Rhein Fire (1-0)
- Net Differential: +37 (PF 43, PA 6)
- Trend: Up (Saisondebüt)
- Justification: Having rested on a bye in Week 1, Rhein Fire showed exactly why they are a professional powerhouse by destroying the London Warriors 43-6. QB [Kenji Bahar](/Players/kenji_bahar.md was clinical, throwing for 222 yards and 3 TDs, while running back Jonathan Scott rushed for 135 yards. The defense, led by Marius Kensy and Christian Matthew, completely shut down the Warriors' offense. They are a close second to Vienna.
3. Paris Lights (1-0)
- Net Differential: +22 (PF 30, PA 8)
- Trend: Up (Saisondebüt)
- Justification: The Lights had an impressive season debut in Paris, handling the Firenze Red Lions 30-8. QB Evan Hillock was efficient, throwing 3 TD passes, and wide receiver Tristen Wallace proved to be an explosive vertical threat, racking up 116 receiving yards and 2 TDs. Running back Armand Soulerot was highly effective both on the ground and out of the backfield. If the defense maintains this level, Paris is a serious playoff contender.
4. Panthers Wrocław (1-1)
- Net Differential: +27 (PF 72, PA 45)
- Trend: Down
- Justification: Wrocław drops two spots, but not due to a poor performance. They went toe-to-toe with the Vikings in a high-scoring shootout. QB [Jameson Wang](/Players/wang_jameson.md passed for 355 yards and 3 TDs, and wide receiver [Michael Harley Jr.](/Players/michael_harley_jr.md was dominant with 181 yards and 2 TDs. The offensive line struggled at times, allowing 5 sacks, and the defense had no answer for Holmes. However, they remain a top-tier team in the league.
5. Berlin Thunder (1-1)
- Net Differential: -32 (PF 31, PA 63)
- Trend: Up
- Justification: Berlin Thunder bounced back from their Week 1 blowout loss with a solid 24-14 road victory against the Alpine Rams. Jakeb Sullivan got the passing game going, throwing 3 TD passes to Niklas Schumm, Bais Kouanda, and Jon Cole. The defense played much better, keeping the Rams off the board for the entire first half. There is still work to do, but this was a step in the right direction.
6. Alpine Rams (0-1)
- Net Differential: -10 (PF 14, PA 24)
- Trend: Down (Saisondebüt)
- Justification: The Swiss expansion franchise showed fight in their Saisondebüt, scoring 14 unanswered points in the second half against Berlin Thunder behind two rushing touchdowns from Gabriel Cunningham. However, their first-half execution was lacking, and they struggled to establish momentum early. They show promise but need time to gel.
7. Firenze Red Lions (0-1)
- Net Differential: -22 (PF 8, PA 30)
- Trend: Down
- Justification: The Red Lions had a rough season opener in Paris. After taking an early 8-0 lead on a Matthew McKay run, they surrendered 30 unanswered points. The offense struggled to move the ball, with McKay held to just 77 passing yards and throwing 1 interception. The offensive line allowed 3 sacks, and the defense wore down under the weight of Paris's passing game.
8. London Warriors (0-2)
- Net Differential: -74 (PF 13, PA 87)
- Trend: —
- Justification: The Warriors remain at the bottom after getting blown out 43-6 by Rhein Fire in Duisburg. London's passing offense under Karé Lyles struggled to establish rhythm, and they turned the ball over twice. The defense was completely overwhelmed by Rhein Fire's balanced attack, giving up 43 points. They need to find answers quickly before the season slips away.
